2017 State Elections & Beechmont Road

BR4B has communicated with the current Mudgeeraba State Member Ros Bates. Ros has been the local member since 2009 and has fought for more funding to improve Beechmont Road. But we all know there is much work left to do and so does Ros. Ros gave the following commitment in: “If re-elected, Ros will continue to fight for a feasibility study for a future upgrade of Beechmont Road between Elimbah Court and Jardine Road.”

    Good morning Ros,

Firstly, thank you for all your support for Better Roads for Beechmont and
for advocating for improvements to Beechmont Road during the past period of
parliament. It is good to see a small section of Beechmont Road between
Elimbah Court and Jardine Road being widened right now. The incremental
works that have been completed in the past have all contributed to improved
road safety. As you know, the result of a community survey conducted by BR4B
identified the entire section of Beechmont Road between Elimbah Court and
Jardine Road as being the main community priority to be widened to improve
safety. Can you please share your intentions for Beechmont Road should you
be re-elected. BR4B would be happy to place this on the website and facebook
to share it with the community.

    Regards

    Hi Craig,

    Thanks for your email.

If re-elected, Ros will continue to fight for a feasibility report for a future upgrade of Beechmont Road between Elimbah Court and Jardine Road. As you know, for three years, Labor has done nothing about this issue.

When Ros was elected in 2009, Beechmont Road had been neglected. Since then, Ros has delivered massive upgrades totalling almost $14 million, and she will keep fighting for more.

Candidates from fly in, fly out minor parties are promising things they can’t and won’t deliver. But unfunded and uncosted promises won’t fix Beechmont Road. As your local Member, Ros hasn’t just promised road upgrades – she’s delivered them.

A vote for a minor party is a vote for Labor. Only the LNP has a track record of building the roads we need. With your support, Ros can continue to build a better Lower Beechmont.
